The Legal Intelligencer (12/22, Passarella) reports, "A Philadelphia jury awarded $11.36 million last week to two plaintiffs who suffered burns over 35 percent of their bodies after the Cessna plane they were in crashed shortly after takeoff from a Georgia airport." According to The Law Firm, "the plaintiffs argued that ineffective inspections and maintenance were the cause of the power interruption that caused the engine failure." Plaintiff Robert E. Marsico, Jr., a physician, will receive $4.9 million in damages, while Heather Moran, the pilot, "was awarded $6.46 million, which included $4.9 million attributable to lost future earnings."
